You’re not a complete Beginner and you haven’t played a whole lot. You suspect that there’s stuff you don’t know. You want to get better, but you don’t know where to start.

I will also review the basics, because I’ve been told that there is almost too much information given to my students.

- How to read basic rhythmic notation including quarter notes, eighth note, triplets and sixteenth notes.
- How to play a variety of simple rock beats based on all eighth notes (i.e. your cymbal hand plays eighth notes, your other hand plays “two” and “four” on the snare, and your bass drum foot plays only notes that line up with your cymbal hand).
- The basic grip and how to make the stick bounce.
- How to play a few basic fills and go back and forth between a beat and a fill.
